The Divine Chalice,

July 13, 2009 · 9 Comments

Within the hollow of all things in nature there exists a theme,
one of unity – the supreme power of the Goddess.
A divine Mother where all life is born from, and
then also returned to her at death to be once again reborn.

Hollow

original painting – artist collection – Nashville, TN – USA – "Krater"

I looked at this yesterday, and really liked it, but didn’t comment, and here I am looking at it again, and I must say that it is truly a wonderful piece–so luminous, and rich with colors and textures.

Lisa, I’ve missed visiting for a few weeks, and clearly I have missed a lot! Love the Reverie, (posted 6/19) but the chalice (krater, grail)is one of those universal icons, cutting across cultures and times
the filled cup and the quest for it….wonderful imagery.

Art Statement

When I take the time to look and to really see and to apply my "foolish" imagination, there are worlds within worlds within worlds to be discovered.

When I allow my eyes to be excited and fascinated and pleased at what they see, I begin a journey, inventing a path to the place I choose to go; and magic happens!
