Spirit of the River… for Nashville Flood

October 31, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Earlier this year the Metro Arts Gallery of Nashville to conmemorate the “historic flooding” of the Cumberland River in May of 2010 made a call to artists for artwork related to this eventful date.
The exhibit was called “Spirit of the River“, in regard to the Nashville Flood

The never ending rainstorm of 2010 was the “cleanse” of Nashville.
It was more rain than some had ever witnessed and so much more…
Many saw their love ones, their homes, their work, their animals and pets
struggle with the overwhelming stream of this downpour.

A deluge, where no dust was left unsettled, a rain that turned to dust their efforts.

And if there was any plant or tree that had missed out on some water,
it then received it from the heavens thus satisfying it’s thirst.
So for the remaining part nature thrived forth with verdant life.

…I desired some
cut flowers
for this very
“cool vase!”

…and let me
tell you right now
I have all these
“flowers!”

…so I checked
every single
“bloom”
in the
“garden!”

…then I carefully
snipped and cut
just a few selected
“petals!”

I then arranged and stylized these “beauties” into this fun display of blooms!

After that was done and “the multi vase” situated,
I then started to revise and assess all the photos that had been taken…

… which led upon inspection,
for me to consequently change my profile image!

Life can either be accepted or changed. If it is not accepted, it must be changed.
If it cannot be changed, then it must be accepted. Batman101

Art Statement

When I take the time to look and to really see and to apply my "foolish" imagination, there are worlds within worlds within worlds to be discovered.

When I allow my eyes to be excited and fascinated and pleased at what they see, I begin a journey, inventing a path to the place I choose to go; and magic happens!
