… the adding of drama with India ink!

… then the rendered wax line is ironed out and outlined with pencil.

All the rendering is done
in hot wax using the
"tjanting", a tool for drawing fine wax lines.

    Happy Belated Cactus Monday Lisa.
    I really love the process and these pieces are great!
    Love the Indian ink and rendered effect.
    Great job and keep it up.
    I miss cactus monday just because I was too tire to go on…..but instead I work on other projects!

    I have seen this technique recently used for batik! I am starting to understand now how you do things. Thanks for the step by step. It is very interesting, and amazing, but alas….still not possible to copy! sigh….

    I’d never heard of a “tjanting” tool, but what you did with it looks really cool. The cactus seems to have come to life and is popping out from the surface.

    I really really want to play with you!! I saw this tool on Caroline’s blog when she was showing us a batik lesson. I love that you use it on your designs. You’re work is just stunning!
