A staple in the Southern diet for over 300 years, black-eyed peas have long been associated with good luck. A dish of peas or lentils is a New Year's tradition in most areas, bringing good luck and prosperity for this New Year 2011.

    Happy New Year to you! My husband’s grandmother fixed black-eyed peas for me for New Year’s and it was delicious! It’s wonderful coming back and seeing that you are still creating incredible work! Wow!
