Detach

August 15, 2008 · 21 Comments

Detachment involves present-moment living – living in the here and now.
We allow life to happen instead of forcing and trying to control it.
We relinquish regrets over the past and fears about the future.
We make the most of each day.
Melody Beattie

Flowers 2 3 © Lisa Rivas

…I desired some
cut flowers
for this very
“cool vase!”

…and let me
tell you right now
I have all these
“flowers!”

…so I checked
every single
“bloom”
in the
“garden!”

…then I carefully
snipped and cut
just a few selected
“petals!”

I then arranged and stylized these “beauties” into this fun display of blooms!

After that was done and “the multi vase” situated,
I then started to revise and assess all the photos that had been taken…

… which led upon inspection,
for me to consequently change my profile image!

A class of art…

August 11, 2008 · 3 Comments

Dragonfly_glass_2

I made this small "glass-art" by
fusing different pieces of colored glass.
Now I have used it for
an illustrative image in my artwork.
This glass art has now transcended
even further by being implemented
into another form of art!

"Under The Glass"
• fused glass illustration printed as an archival pigment print, 100% rag paper

Glass art is the use of glass as an artistic medium.
Specific approaches include stained glass, working glass in a torch flame (lampworking),
glass beadmaking, glass casting, glass fusing and most notably, glass blowing.

$100,000.00 – eight digits!

August 8, 2008 · 2 Comments

Spiritually eight is the goal of the initiate, having gone through the seven stages.
Eight is Infinity – Paradise regained.
Also considered a lucky number in Chinese culture because it sounds like the word “prosper” or “wealth”

10000000dollars

The $100,000 is an odd bill, in that it was not generally issued, and printed only as a gold certificate of Series of 1934. They are printed in orange on the reverse. This series was discontinued in 1940.

Esto es para mi amigo Balbino Suarez en VENEZUELA!

This is actually very beautiful money bill!
I love the “Birds” and our national hero “Simón Bolivar”…

Art Statement

When I take the time to look and to really see and to apply my "foolish" imagination, there are worlds within worlds within worlds to be discovered.

When I allow my eyes to be excited and fascinated and pleased at what they see, I begin a journey, inventing a path to the place I choose to go; and magic happens!
