IF • Wrinkles

“Age imprints more “wrinkles” in the mind than it does on the face.”

In a Nutshell…

Earlier this week we honored “EARTH DAY”,
as “today“ is the “last“ Friday in April this date was assigned as the official “ARBOR DAY.”
“A day to celebrate trees”

I feel that this piece holds both observances in a nutshell!

Earth Day, for the earthworm!

April 22, 2008 · 3 Comments

Today is Earth Day!
An observance date intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment.

Did you know an “earthworm” has 5 hearts?
This “primitive”, blind and sensitive little creature loves and helps the earth stay healthy by breaking down dead organic matter and turning the soil. The earth without worms would soon become cold, hard-bound, and void of fermentation, and consequently sterile.

The earthworm is a great builder – a builder of fertile topsoil,
in itself the sustainer of all civilization.

Earthworms, actually, act as a barometer for soil health!

Primo • first class…

…these shapes and colors began to breath and grow.
They were the first flowers and thus began the "primeval gardens."

And in these gardens appeared a fearless and "primitive" form of life.
It was long, pink and soft, silently moving around and ever so graceful…
…a PRIMO creature!

Earthworms are "decomposers", they break things down into valuable
nutrients that can be used by other plants and animals.

Art Statement

When I take the time to look and to really see and to apply my "foolish" imagination, there are worlds within worlds within worlds to be discovered.

When I allow my eyes to be excited and fascinated and pleased at what they see, I begin a journey, inventing a path to the place I choose to go; and magic happens!
