Romantic Cabbage

I found this “exotic flower” at the grocery store, “a cabbage” with a long stem.

Once arranged in a vase with water and some palm leaves it held up very well, for about 10 days.

There was no Cabbage Soup or Cold Slaw for this one. 
It had been destined for a romantic experience with “baby breath”!

Bright lit windows usually put me in a daze, one of an enlivened imagination.
Capturing this moment on a cold winter morning had a drama of it’s own.
It seemed as if the small
Pie Bird was getting all steamed up at the blooming Purple–Red Oxalis,
who in turned thought it could fly away, even through the
“frozen shut“ window!

Wings to fly!
