The Ovals III… again!

November 13, 2008 · 5 Comments

Oh no! "The Ovals"! screamed the "black speckled hens".

What happened to "THE OVALS"?
They are cracked and empty!!!
The "smooth eggs" and the "hairy coconut", all of them!

That "big oval" had something to do with this… they all got just too close…
What do we do now?

Atonement-dt1

A wise old owl sat in an oak;

The more he saw the less he spoke;

The less he spoke the more he heard;

Why aren't we like that wise old bird?

Edward Hersey Richards (b. 1874)

“Arlecchino”…

October 14, 2008 · 2 Comments

…is one of the stock characters"Stinkbug" - fused glass tile by Lisa Rivas
of the Commedia del’Arte, Italian Comedy.
From his ludicrous dress comes the
meaning “particolored”, colored in sections.

The Harlequin Bug is a stinkbug,
dressed in multicolored, fanciful-patterns.

They are of the family of insects called
Pentatomidae, from the Greek words:
pente/five and tomos/sections.

• fused glass – illustration printed as an archival pigment print, 100% rag paper

Stinkbugs are so named because they secrete a foul-smelling liquid that is repulsive to most predators.

Smell is a potent wizard that transports you across thousand of miles
and all the years you have lived. Helen Keller

Art Statement

When I take the time to look and to really see and to apply my "foolish" imagination, there are worlds within worlds within worlds to be discovered.

When I allow my eyes to be excited and fascinated and pleased at what they see, I begin a journey, inventing a path to the place I choose to go; and magic happens!
