A Pink Delight… yum!

September 2, 2009 · 7 Comments

Today I harvested my very first watermelon and then I dropped it!
This watermelon spilled sweet juice everywhere…

…all over my shoes, it was like a downpour of  ❤ "pink rain" ❤

Watermelon rinds are also edible, and sometimes used as a vegetable. In China, they are stir-fried, stewed, or more often pickled. When stir-fried, the de-skinned and de-fruited rind is cooked with olive oil, garlic, chili peppers, scallions, sugar and rum.

    Preety looking shot!
It’s OK that you drop it by accident Lisa but that never spoiled your good mood!
Lovely and I connect it with my eye candy fruit salad too.

Excited for your first watermelon harvest! We have a patch of volunteers: they are going wild and insistent in all directions, with many melons lurking beneath the vines. They won’t be ripe for another 2 weeks! Can’t wait…
The watermelon/feta/red onion/mint combination is surprisingly lovely.

When I allow my eyes to be excited and fascinated and pleased at what they see, I begin a journey, inventing a path to the place I choose to go; and magic happens!
