Cause and effect…

As I placed all the little folded papers,
with your names into a bowl to…
I happen to breath on them,
one of them "flew out" of the bowl!

Like a little grasshopper jumping to be,
and this would be the one and
it is Diane! I just smiled…
because this was her "first time ever"
to leave a comment
(she emailed me asking me how to make a comment)
and she is now a winner!

Way to go Diane!
Now you need to go and visit
all "the wonderful people" who
left a comment and learn about them.
That is all I ask of you in return…

Email me your mailing address,
so I can send you this notebook that now has your
"precious name" on it!

And to everyone who participated thank you for your comments,
they were wonderful, inspiring and downright fabulous, such poets…

You all made me feel so appreciated and happy!
Satisfaction does not come with achievement, but with effort. Full effort is full victory. Mahatma Gandhi

PS1: I just found out Diane has a site! Here it is: https://diane-hamilton.blogspot.com/

PS2: Also the notebook is shown on the Quilting Arts / Cloth Paper Scissors® website!

Above containers with Tomato Sauce and below a bowl of refreshing “Gazpacho Soup”

Gazpacho Soup

In China, “red“ is a lucky color, so it’s often used to bring luck into a household.

Keep reading here for a “Gazpacho Soup” recipe!

Often described as a liquid salad. Gazpacho was
traditionally eaten by workers in the fields, whether they were
vineyards, olive plantations, citrus groves, wheat fields or cork farms.
This cold soup replenished them
with the necessary salt and vitamins lost through physical exertion.

Originally
gazpacho was nothing but bread, water, and olive oil, all pounded in a
large wooden bowl called a dornillo. The tomatoes and peppers appeared after Christopher Columbus.

GAZPACHO SOUP

•    4 thick slices coarse bread crusts removed, soak in water (5 min)
•    3 pounds Roma tomatoes skins removed
•    3 medium garlic cloves
•    2 firm medium-sized cucumbers, peeled
•    1 medium green bell pepper, cored, seeded and chopped
•    1 medium red bell pepper, cored, seeded and chopped
•    2 stalks celery, chopped
•    1/4 cup olive oil
•    4 Tbsp of balsamic vinegar
•    2 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
•    2 tsp sugar
•    1-2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
•    Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

Squeeze water out of the bread and combine with tomatoes, garlic
cloves, cucumbers, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, sugar, salt &
pepper in a food processor and blend slightly to desired consistency.
You will have to do this in batches. Place in a large mixing bowl and
mix in the rest of the ingredients well.
Store in non-metal, non-reactive storage container, cover tightly and refrigerate overnight, allowing flavors to blend.
Serves 8.

To us all!

August 20, 2008 · 4 Comments

Small flowers, cheerfully standing tall,
always smiling, to us all.

Soft petals, in the sun they shine,
waving to us all, in a friendly line.

Sweet flowers, dressed in vivid color galore,
beaming to us all,
for they will dance together once more.

Art Statement

When I take the time to look and to really see and to apply my "foolish" imagination, there are worlds within worlds within worlds to be discovered.

When I allow my eyes to be excited and fascinated and pleased at what they see, I begin a journey, inventing a path to the place I choose to go; and magic happens!
